As a young adventurer, his Zoo Quest books and television programmes blazed a trail to all corners of the world. In 1957, Idries Shah appeared as a guest on his travel programme to discuss Destination Mecca and, in the early 1970s while a BBC controller, Attenborough commissioned the ground-breaking documentary One Pair of Eyes, on Shah and his work.
